Egyptian Book of the Dead
Created for the Getty Museum’s exhibition, this interactive animation portrayed the mummy wrapping ritual of Petosiris and the Egyptian afterlife.
My Role: As lead designer and illustrator, I defined the overall visual style, drawing from authentic Egyptian art and historical references. I developed sketchboards and styleframes, created the color palette inspired by pigments available during the period, and established a workflow for blending vector artwork with texture to achieve an authentic yet animatable look. In addition to design, I also contributed select animation sequences.
This edited reel highlights my design and animation contributions from the full 4-minute piece. The project remains one of my favorites, as it allowed me to balance historical accuracy with creative direction while shaping the visual identity of an interactive museum experience.
